Oilers Ranked 8th in Preseason DII Bulletin Poll

The NCAA Division II Bulletin has ranked the Oilers men's basketball team as the eighth best team in the nation during the preseason.

The Oilers, who won their third straight Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Tournament title last year, finished the 2013-14 campaign with a 24-6 record.  Their third straight GLIAC Tournament title marked the first time a program had ever accomplished the feat in league history.

Senior forward Jake Heagen, a second team all-conference pick last year, returns to lead the team after averaging 12.9 points and 6.4 rebounds per game.

Junior guard Dylan Kaufman also returns after averaging 10.7 points and 4.1 rebounds per contest.

The Oilers will begin practice on Oct. 15 and then take the floor for their first exhibition game on Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. against Wright State University.
