Heagen Receives GLIAC Commissioner's Award

Senior forward Jake Heagen was tabbed as a recipient of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Winter Commissioner's Award for his work on the basketball floor and in the classroom. The award, sponsored by Meijer, Incorporated, are presented after the fall, winter and spring athletic seasons to six female and six male student-athletes that excel both in the classroom and on the fields of play.

Heagen has carried a 3.75 grade point average and is majoring in business at The University of Findlay. He has twice been named GLIAC academic all-excellence and earned academic all-conference accolades once. During his senior season, Heagen was also a Capital One Academic All-District 4 selection.

On the court, the New Concord, Ohio native averaged 15.5 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.6 steals per game during his final year and ended his career with 1,307 points, the 24th best total in school history. He earned first team all-conference honors as a senior and was a second team all-league pick as a junior.
