Oilers Top Panthers 80-76

The University of Findlay men's basketball team held on for an 80-76 win over Ohio Dominican University on Jan. 14 in Croy Gymnasium to push their record to 9-5 on the year with a 6-3 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).

The Oilers shot 50.8 percent (30-of-59) from the floor and drained 7-of-19 (36.8%) of their three point tries in the game. The Panthers meanwhile shot 58.5 percent (31-of-53) from the floor and canned nine three pointers in the game.

Senior forward John Staley paced the Oilers with 16 points, eight rebounds and three steals while sophomore forward Taren Sullivan had a career-high 15 points to go along with four boards and two assists.

Sophomore guard Martyce Kimbrough added 13 points and five rebounds while junior forward Tyler Stern-Tucker came off the bench to provide 11 points in 17 minutes of action.

The Panthers were led by Ronnie Williams' 20 points and seven assists.

The Oilers are back on the floor on Saturday, Jan. 16 when they travel to take on the Tiffin Dragons in a game set to begin at 3:00pm.
