Oilers Defeat Warriors, Win 10th Straight

Findlay, OH – The University of Findlay men's basketball team hit double-digits with their win streak on Feb. 1 with a 76-68 victory over Wayne State University. Still in first in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) South, the Oilers now sport a 15-5 record overall with a 12-3 mark in GLIAC play. It marks the first time the Orange and Black have had a ten game win streak since the 2010-11 season, the last with Ron Niekamp at the helm.

Sophomore Martyce Kimbrough picked up his fourth 20-point game of the season and third in the last six games with his 27-point performance tonight. Kimbrough drained a career-high 7-of-10 three point attempts and hit 9-of-16 attempts overall from the field.

Sophomore forward Taren Sullivan had 17 points on 7-of-11 shooting while senior forward John Staley recorded ten points, six rebounds and three assists.

The Oilers shot 49.1 percent (27-of-55) from the floor and drained 12-of-19 (63.2%) attempts from behind the three point line.

The Warriors made 45.2 percent (28-of-62) of their shot attempts and grabbed 13 offensive rebounds. They were led by Ronald Booth, who had 19 points.

The Oilers are back in action this Thursday, Feb. 1 as they head to Ohio Dominican to take on the Panthers. That game will begin at 7:30 p.m.
