Oilers Win at Walsh 74-68

The University of Findlay men's basketball team came away with a 74-68 win at Walsh University on Feb. 18 to push their record to 18-7 on the season. The road win also gives them a 15-5 mark in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play.

The Oilers shot 50.9 percent (29-of-57) from the floor and connected on a blistering 60 percent (18-of-30) of their shot attempts in the second half. They also canned 10-of-26 (38.5%) tries from behind the three point line and held a 27-8 advantage in points off the bench.

Sophomore guard Martyce Kimbrough paced the squad with 17 points on 6-of-11 shooting while senior forward John Staley had 12 points, four rebounds and three assists.

Sophomore guard Nick Ruthsatz was a big key to the Oilers production off the bench as he contributed a season-high ten points to go along with a career-high seven rebounds.

Junior forward Tyler Stern-Tucker also played well off the pine, contributing ten points and three rebounds in 13 minutes of action while sophomore forward Taren Sullivan chipped in nine points and six boards.

The Oilers will return home to host Malone University on Saturday, Feb. 20 in their final regular season in Croy Gymnasium. The game, which is scheduled to tip at 3 p.m., will also mark senior day for the Oilers.
