Oilers Close Regular Season at Wayne St.

The Oilers will travel to Detroit, Mich. to face Wayne State in their final game of the regular season on Feb. 25. The contest is scheduled to tip at 7:30 p.m.

Don't forget to tune into 88.3 FM "WLFC" for Center Court with Charlie Ernst.  The radio show will be aired live from Fricker's on Monday evenings during the season.  The show will be aired live from 6-6:30 p.m.  Fans are encouraged to attend the show so they can listen live over the sound system and enjoy the great food Fricker's has to offer.

Series Information

The Oilers hold a 28-17 advantage in the all-time series against Wayne State dating back to the 1990-91 campaign when they came out on top by a score of 80-79.

Findlay came away with a 76-68 win over the Warriors on Feb. 1 in Croy Gymnasium.

Martyce Kimbrough paced the team with 27 points. He drained 7-of-10 three point attempts and hit 9-of-16 attempts overall from the field.

Taren Sullivan had 17 points on 7-of-11 shooting while John Staley recorded ten points, six rebounds and three assists.

The Oilers shot 49.1 percent (27-of-55) from the floor and drained 12-of-19 (63.2%) attempts from behind the three point line.

The Warriors made 45.2 percent (28-of-62) of their shot attempts and grabbed 13 offensive rebounds. They were led by Ronald Booth, who had 19 points.

Findlay

The Oilers are 19-7 on the season with a 16-5 record in GLIAC play. They are coming off of 70-69 win over Malone in Croy on Saturday.

Sophomore guard Martyce Kimbrough has paced the squad and is averaging 15.4 points per contest. Sophomore forward Taren Sullivan is averaging 13.0 points and 4.5 rebounds per game while senior forward John Staley is producing 10.8 points and 5.4 rebounds each contest.

Wayne State

The Warriors are 7-17 on the season with a 7-14 record in conference play. They are coming off of an 85-72 loss at home to Walsh on Feb. 20.

Ronald Booth has led the team and is averaging 15.9 points per game. Michael Lewis is also averaging in double figures, scoring 12.0 points per contest to go along with 6.2 boards per game.

As a team, the Warriors are shooting 40.0 percent as a team and grabbing 38.0 rebounds per outing.

The Oilers are looking for their 20th win of the season on Thursday at Wayne State. The Oilers basketball program has reached the 20-win plateau in 13 out of the past 14 seasons.

Magic Touch

Senior forward John Staley is hitting 73.1 percent (122-of-167) of his field goal attempts this season. Staley's shooting percentage is the best mark in the GLIAC this year.

Staley set a single season school record last season by converting 64.1 percent (107-of-167) of his shot attempts.

Stroking 3's

Sophomore guard Martyce Kimbrough is ranked second in the GLIAC with 73 made three pointers this season. He is making 2.8 triples per contest and shooting 40.6 percent (73-of-180) from three point range.
