Oilers Head North to Face NMU/MTU
The Oilers will travel to the Upper Peninsula for a pair of games this week. They will face Northern Michigan at 8 p.m. on Dec. 15 and then battle Michigan Tech on Dec. 17 at 6 p.m.

Series Information
The Oilers sport a 17-4 record against the Wildcats dating back to the 1997-98 campaign when Northern Michigan came out on top by a score of 68-57. They have won the last ten games against the Wildcats as well.
Findlay claimed a 73-71 win over the Wildcats last year in Croy behind 14 points from both Martyce Kimbrough and Alex White. Dylan Kaufman added 11 points while Elijah Kahlig and Tyler Stern-Tucker each had eight points apiece.
The Oilers hold a 19-8 advantage in the all-time series against the Huskies dating back to the 1997-98 campaign when Michigan Tech was victorious by an 81-71 margin.
Findlay came away with a 62-52 win over Michigan Tech last year in Croy as Tyler Stern-Tucker recorded a double-double with 18 points and ten boards.
Dylan Kaufman had nine points while Austin Gardner had eight points and three assists. Taren Sullivan chipped in seven points and three rebounds while Alex White had three boards and three blocks in the win.
Findlay
The Oilers fell 90-85 against Lake Superior State on Dec. 10 in Croy Gymnasium. The loss, which was only their sixth in the past 122 GLIAC games in Croy, gave them a 5-3 record on the season.
Martyce Kimbrough had a hot hand for Findlay as he poured in a career-high 38 points on 11-of-21 shooting. Kimbrough hit 8-of-16 attempts from behind the three point line and made 8-of-9 tries from the charity stripe in the game. His 38 points were the most scored by an Oilers player since former UF All-American Greg Kahlig recorded 55 points against Walsh University on March 8, 2014.
Taren Sullivan recorded his second career double-double with 15 points and ten rebounds as well. Sullivan also added five assists, three steals and a block. Ricardo Smith nearly recorded a double-double with ten points and eight rebounds while Elijah Kahlig had ten points as well.
The Oilers only shot 39.7 percent (27-of-68) from the floor and made 15-of-42 (35.7%) attempts from three. Their 42 attempts from long range established a new school record, eclipsing the old record of 40 set against Ashland on Dec. 1, 2007.
Northern Michigan
The Wildcats are 3-5 on the season with a 1-2 record in conference play. They have been led by Naba Echols, who is averaging 17.3 points and 4.3 assists per game.
Isaiah Johnson (14.1), Will Caruis (12.6) and Jordan Perez (12.2) are all averaging in double figures as well for Northern Michigan.
Michigan Tech
The Huskies are 4-5 on the season with a 2-1 record in GLIAC play. Kyle Monroe leads the team with averages of 18.3 points and 6.5 rebounds per contest while Tommy Lucca and Bryan Heath are averaging 17.8 and 16.1 points per game, respectively.
Jordan Chartier is also scoring in double figures at 12.7 points per outing.
GLIAC Player of the Week
Junior guard Martyce Kimbrough was named the GLIAC South Division Player of the Week on Dec. 12 for his performances against Northwood University and Lake Superior State University last week.
Kimbrough averaged 33.0 points per game for the Oilers last week and helped them achieve a 1-1 record. He scored 28 points and hit six three pointers in the Oilers 91-73 victory over Northwood on Dec. 8 and then followed with a career-high 38 points and eight triples in Findlay's 90-85 loss to Lake Superior State on Dec. 10. His 38 points against the Lakers were the most an Oilers player has scored since former UF All-American Greg Kahlig put up 55 points against Walsh on March 8, 2014.
Dynamic Duo
Junior guard Martyce Kimbrough and junior forward Taren Sullivan have been carrying the scoring load for Findlay this season and are both ranked in the top-ten of the GLIAC in points per game average.
Kimbrough is averaging 20.1 points per contest, the fourth-best mark in the league, while Sullivan ranks eighth with 17.4 points per game. The duo has spearheaded one of the top offensive attacks in the league as the Oilers rank fourth in scoring at 80.9 points per game.
Bombs Away
The Oilers are making 39.5 percent (81-of-205) of their three point attempts this season, the third-best percentage in the GLIAC. They are also making 10.1 three pointers per game, the fourth-best mark in the league.
The Oilers have three players who are shooting over 40 percent from three point range. Junior guard Martyce Kimbrough leads the team with a 45.1 percent (32-of-71) shooting clip from long range while junior forward Taren Sullivan is shooting 43.9 percent (18-of-41) from long range. Junior guard Elijah Kahlig is also hitting three pointers at a high percentage, making 42.9 percent (18-of-42) of his triple tries.
Kimbrough is making 4.0 three pointers per game, the best mark in the GLIAC. His 32 made triples is also leading the GLIAC.
Stuffing the Stat Sheet
Junior forward Taren Sullivan has been stuffing the stat sheet this season for the Oilers and sports averages of 17.4 points, 6.6 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.4 steals and 0.9 blocks per contest.
