Oilers Home Against #7 SVSU and WSU
The Oilers will be at home for a pair of Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) games this week. They will host 7th-ranked Saginaw Valley State on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. and then welcome Wayne State to town on Saturday for a 3:00 p.m. contest.

Series Information
The Oilers hold a 20-4 lead in the all-time series against Saginaw Valley State dating back to the 1992-93 campaign when the Cardinals were victorious by a score of 75-67.
Findlay came away with a 75-70 win over the Cardinals last season in Croy Gymnasium. In a game that featured nine ties and 11 lead changes, the Oilers shot 51.8 percent (29-of-56) from the field and canned 7-of-15 (46.7%) shot attempts from behind the three point line. They also forced 16 turnovers, blocked a season-high eight shots and held a 38-26 advantage in points in the paint.
Martyce Kimbrough paced the Oilers with 13 points on 5-of-13 shooting. John Staley had 12 points and four rebounds, shooting a perfect 5-of-5 from the field, and Tyler Stern-Tucker came off the pine to contribute 12 points and seven boards.
Taren Sullivan chipped in nine points, five assists and two rebounds while Ricardo Smith had seven points, three rebounds, three steals and two assists.
The Oilers hold a 29-17 advantage in the all-time series against Wayne State dating back to the 1990-91 campaign when they came out on top by a score of 80-79.
The Oilers came away with two victories over the Warriors last year, winning 76-68 in Findlay and 82-55 in Detroit.
In the home win, Martyce Kimbrough paced the team with 27 points on the strength of a 7-of-10 showing from behind the three point line. Taren Sullivan added 17 points while John Staley had ten points, six rebounds and three assists.
In the win on the road, Martyce Kimbrough led the way with 19 points while John Staley had 14 points, six rebounds and three steals.
Dylan Kaufman added 11 points while Alex White came off the bench to provide eight points and nine rebounds.
Findlay's defense held the Warriors to a 38.2 percent shooting clip in the win.
Findlay
The Oilers topped the 100-point plateau for the third straight game with a 120-67 victory over Carlow on Jan. 2 in Croy Gymnasium. The Oilers, who have scored over 100 points in four out of their last five games, improved to 10-3 on the season with the win.
The Oilers shot 60.3 percent (44-of-73) from the floor and made a season-high 17-of-28 (60.7%) attempts from behind the three point line. Their 17 made triples is the third-highest total in school history. Findlay Also dished out a school record 33 assists in the game and forced a season-high 25 turnovers, which led to a season-high 18 steals.
The Oilers, who had 13 players score in the game, were led by junior guard Martyce Kimbrough and his 23 points. Kimbrough hit 9-of-14 shot attempts from the field and splashed 5-of-7 attempts from long range in the game. Junior forward Taren Sullivan recorded 17 points, eight rebounds, four assists and two steals while junior guard Elijah Kahlig made all six of his three point tries en route to 18 points. His perfect 6-of-6 performance from three point land eclipsed the school record of a 5-of-5 showing from Aaron Robinson against Northern Michigan on Dec. 8, 2012 to establish a new school record for most made three pointers without a miss.
#7 Saginaw Valley State
The Cardinals are 11-1 on the year and ranked seventh in the nation. They also have recorded a 4-1 record in conference play this season.
Garrett Hall leads Saginaw Valley State with averages of 16.2 points and 4.3 rebounds per game. C.J. Turnage is also off to a great start and sports averages of 14.6 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.3 blocks per game. He is also shooting 60.2 percent from the floor.
The Cardinals are scoring 83.2 points per game and shooting 47.3 percent from the field. They are also grabbing 39.5 rebounds per game.
Wayne State
The Warriors are 8-1 on the season with a 5-0 record in conference play. They have been led by Ronald Booth, who is averaging a team-high 16.3 points per game.
Chuck Key is producing 12.9 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game while Marcus Moore is contributing 12.4 points and 5.7 rebounds per contest.
The Warriors are averaging 72.6 points per game and holding opponents to only 62.8 points per contest. They are also grabbing 35.0 rebounds per game and limiting their opponents to a mere 40.9 percent shooting clip from the field.
Dynamic Duo
Junior guard Martyce Kimbrough and junior forward Taren Sullivan have been carrying the scoring load for Findlay this season and are both ranked in the top-ten of the GLIAC in points per game average.
Kimbrough is averaging 18.1 points per contest, the fifth-best mark in the league, while Sullivan ranks sixth with 17.8 points per game. The duo has spearheaded one of the top offensive attacks in the league as the Oilers rank second in scoring at 88.8 points per game.
Bombs Away
The Oilers are making 42.4 percent (144-of-340) of their three point attempts this season, the best percentage in the GLIAC. They are also making 11.1 three pointers per game, which is also the best mark in the league. Their three pointers made per game also ranks 13th in the nation while their shooting percentage from long range ranks 15th.
Junior guard Elijah Kahlig is making a team-high 51.9 percent (40-of-717) of his triple tries and is followed by junior forward Taren Sullivan, who is converting 46.7 percent (28-of-60) of his shot attempts from behind the three point line. Junior guard Martyce Kimbrough is canning 44.9 percent (48-of-111) of his three point attempts as well. Kahlig ranks third in the GLIAC in three point shooting percentage while Sullivan and Kimbrough rank eighth and 14th, respectively.
Kimbrough is making 3.7 three pointers per game, the best mark in the GLIAC. His 48 made triples is also leading the GLIAC. His three point field goals made per game also ranks 18th nationally while his 48 made three pointers on the season is the 15th-best mark in all of NCAA Division II men's basketball.
Kahlig meanwhile is connecting on 3.1 three pointers per game, the fourth-best mark in the league, while Sullivan is splashing 2.2 triples per contest. Sullivan's 2.2 three pointers per game is the 14th-best mark in the conference.
Passing the Pill
The Oilers are averaging 19.2 assists per game this season, the second-best mark in the GLIAC. Earlier this season they set a new school record with 33 assists in their 120-67 win over Carlow on Jan. 2. The 33 assists eclipsed the old record of 30, which was set against Notre Dame (Ohio) on Dec. 3, 2011.
Individually, junior guard Austin Gardner was leading the team with an average of 6.3 assists per game before his season-ending injury. Junior forward Taren Sullivan has picked up the slack and is contributing 4.1 assists per contest, the fifth-best total in the GLIAC.
A Tough Place to Play
The Oilers are 588-118 (.833) in Croy Gymnasium since they starting playing home games there during the 1969-70 season. They have gone undefeated at home eight times in a season since they began play in Croy Gymnasium as well.
In the past ten years the Oilers have posted a staggering 133-8 record at home for an incredible winning percentage of .943.
From 2004-11, the Oilers won 71-straight home games, which at the time was the longest streak in the nation regardless of NCAA division.
Dominating GLIAC Home Games
The Oilers have won 116 of their last 122 regular season conference games at home. From 2004-13, the Oilers won 84-straight GLIAC games in Croy Gymnasium.
