Chargers Top Oilers 80-65

The University of Findlay men's basketball team got off to a poor start against Hillsdale College on Jan. 12 and fell on the road by a score of 80-65. The loss gives the Oilers a 12-4 record on the season with a 6-3 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).

The Oilers, who saw their seven-game winning streak come to an end, shot 44.3 percent (27-of-61) from the floor and were out-rebounded by a 39-25 margin. The Chargers meanwhile connected on 52.7 percent (29-of-55) of their shot attempts and made nine three pointers in the game.

Junior guard Martyce Kimbrough paced the Oilers with 20 points on 8-of-17 shooting while sophomore forward Katwan Singleton contributed ten points.

Senior forward Tyler Stern-Tucker added nine points and four rebounds while senior guard Ricardo Smith had eight points and five boards.

The Oilers will be back in action next Thursday, Jan. 19 when they play host to Ohio Dominican University. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. in Croy Gymnasium.
