Oilers Crush Eagles on Senior Day

The University of Findlay men's basketball team defeated Ashland University by a score of 85-65 on senior day in Croy Gymnasium. The win gives the Oilers a 21-5 record on the season with a 15-4 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).

The Oilers, who out-scored the Eagles 54-36 in the second half, shot 46.9 percent (30-of-64) from the floor and canned 11-of-25 (44%) attempts from three point land in the game. They also held a 41-27 advantage on the boards and forced 15 turnovers in the win.

Junior guard Martyce Kimbrough paced the Oilers with 29 points on 10-of-23 shooting. He also made 5-of-12 attempts from three point range and chipped in three rebounds, two assists and a steal.

Junior forward Taren Sullivan had 19 points, eight rebounds and six assists while junior guard Elijah Kahlig contributed 15 points, two rebounds and two assists.

Senior guard Ricardo Smith, playing in his final regular season game in Croy, scored four points to go along with a career-high 11 rebounds. He also added four assists, two steals and two blocks. Senior forward Tyler Stern-Tucker recorded six points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals in the victory too.

The Eagles shot 44.6 percent (25-of-56) from the floor and were led by Adrian Cook's 16 points.

The Oilers will close the regular season on Feb. 23 at Walsh University. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. in Canton, Ohio.
