Kimbrough/Sullivan Named All-Region by NABC
Junior guard Martyce Kimbrough was named first team all-Midwest Region by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) on March 20. In addition, junior forward Taren Sullivan captured second team all-region accolades.
Kimbrough led the Oilers in scoring this season at 19.3 points per game. The Lima, Ohio native canned a school record 114-of-282 (40.4%) three point attempts and his 617 points scored is the eighth-best single-season total in Findlay history.
Kimbrough earned first team all-region honors from the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) as well and was a first team all-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) pick for the second straight year. He also earned a spot on the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional all-tournament team and has accumulated 1,066 career points for the Oilers, the 39th-best total in school history.
Sullivan meanwhile sported averages of 18.1 points, 7.7 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.5 steals per game. He shot a team-high 55.2 percent (233-of-422) from the floor and made a team-best 44.8 percent (64-of-143) of his three point attempts. The Lima, Ohio native also racked up 580 points during the season, the tenth-best total in school history.
Sullivan earned second team all-region honors from the D2CCA as well and was a first team all-conference selection. He also earned a spot on the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional all-tournament team and has accumulated 1,061 career points for the Oilers, the 40th-best total in school history.
Kimbrough and Sullivan are only the second pair of Findlay teammates to earn all-region honors from the NABC in the same year. After the 2009-10 campaign, both Marcus Parker and Nathan Hyde captured first team all-region honors from the NABC. They are also the first Findlay players to earn all-region accolades from the NABC since Greg Kahlig earned the honor in 2013-14.
