Oilers Begin League Play at KWC/Trevecca

The Oilers will be back out on the road for a pair of games at Kentucky Wesleyan and Trevecca Nazarene. The Oilers will play the Panthers on Nov. 30 and then battle the Trojans on Dec. 2.

Series Information

The Oilers are 0-2 all-time against Kentucky Wesleyan. They lost 94-89 against the Panthers during the second round of the 2001-02 NCAA Division II National Tournament and fell 83-66 in the second round of the 2002-03 NCAA Division II National Tournament.

In their first meeting, Kyle Hunt led the Oilers with 30 points and eight rebounds. He hit 11-of-23 from the floor and made 4-of-10 tries from three point range.

Bob Mitchell canned seven three points and finished with 25 points while Charles Warren and Jeff Reese had 11 and ten points, respectively.

In their second meeting, Tyson McGlaughlin paced the team with 13 points, four rebounds and three steals.

Brad Rethman had 12 points and three steals while Dustin Pfeifer had ten points and three assists.

The Oilers hold a 2-0 advantage in the all-time series against Trevecca-Nazarene. The two programs initiated their series during the 2016-17 campaign.

In their first meeting, the Oilers came away with a 85-63 win on the road over Trevecca Nazarene. Martyce Kimbrough led the Oilers with 24 points on 8-of-14 shooting. He also connected on 6-of-9 attempts from behind the three point line in the win.

Taren Sullivan also played well and contributed 17 points, five rebounds and three assists while Elijah Kahlig came off the bench to provide eight points, two rebounds and two assists.

In their second meeting, Findlay scored a 106-59 win in Croy. Sullivan led the way wiht 25 points and six assists while Kimbrough recorded 15 points.

Kahlig produced 12 points, four rebounds and four assists while Katwan Singleton contributed 11 points and six boards.

Alex White and Nick Ruthsatz each scored ten points apiece while Aaron Overhiser had ten rebounds.

Findlay

The Oilers are 5-2 on the season and have been led by senior forward Taren Sullivan. Sullivan is averaging 17.9 points, 6.9 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game for the Oilers this season.

Senior guard Martyce Kimbrough is contributing 16.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.9 assists per contest while senior guard Elijah Kahlig is pumping in 11.6 points per outing to go along with a team-high 21 made three pointers.

Sophomore forward Aaron Overhiser is averaging 9.7 points and 4.0 rebounds per game off the bench for Findlay while junior forward Alex White is contributing 7.4 points and 5.0 rebounds per contest.

The Panthers are 3-4 on the year and have been led by Rasheide Bell, who is averaging 11.7 points per game. Brandon Hatton (11.6), Bird Cardwell (11.3) and Daniel Dzierzawski (10.8) are also scoring in double figures on the season while Amir Warnock is averaging 9.9 points per outing.

The Trojans are 1-5 on the year and have been led by Devin Whitfield, who is scoring 20.7 points per outing. Whitfield is also averaging 7.5 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game as well.

Taywyn Mason is also averaging in double figures at 10.0 points per game.

1,000-Point Club

Senior forward Taren Sullivan ranks 34th all-time at Findlay with 1,186 career points while senior guard Martyce Kimbrough ranks 35th all-time at Findlay with 1,178 career points.

Senior guard Elijah Kahlig is looking to join the 1,000-point club this season and has scored 765 career points during his tenure at Findlay.

Taking Care of the Rock

The Oilers have been great at not turning the ball over this year as they are only averaging 9.3 turnovers per game. Their average leads the Great Midwest and is the eighth-best mark in all of NCAA Division II men's basketball.

Grand Theft

The Oilers are averaging 8.1 steals per game this season, the best total in the Great Midwest. Their average also ranks 27th in the nation.

Individually, junior guard Trey Smith leads the conference with 13 steals while freshman guard Tommy Schmock ranks second with 12 steals.
