Big 2nd Half Propels Oilers to 90-62 Win

The University of Findlay men's basketball team out-scored Ohio Dominican University by 29 points in the second half to propel them to a 90-62 victory on Dec. 13 in Columbus, Ohio. The victory extended the Oilers winning streak to six games and improved their record to 10-2 on the season with a 5-0 mark in Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) action.

The Oilers trailed by one at 35-34 when the first half buzzer sounded, but out-scored the Panthers 56-27 in the second half to cruise to victory.

Findlay shot 52.3 percent (34-of-65) from the floor and made 13-of-30 (43.3%) attempts from three point range. They also forced 19 turnovers and came away with ten steals in the game as well.

Senior forward Taren Sullivan led the way with 22 points on 10-of-17 shooting while senior guard Martyce Kimbrough had 20 points on 7-of-13 shooting.

Freshman guard Tommy Schmock came off the bench to provide a career-high 14 points on 5-of-6 shooting. He made three triples and also recorded four rebounds and four assists in the win.

Senior guard Austin Gardner stuffed the stat sheet with eight points, four assists, three steals and two rebounds while sophomore forward Aaron Overhiser had seven points and four boards.

Junior forward Alex White also had a good game down low for Findlay, chipping in five points, nine rebounds and three assists.

The Oilers will be back in action again on Dec. 16 when they travel to Cedarville, Ohio to face Cedarville University at 4:15 p.m.
