Oilers Roll to 10th Straight Win

The University of Findlay men's basketball team cruised to their tenth straight victory with an 83-55 win over Davis & Elkins College on Dec. 30 in Elkins, W. Va. The win gives the 23rd-ranked Oilers a 14-2 record on the season with an 8-0 mark in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC).

The Oilers ended the game by hitting 49.2 percent (32-of-65) of their field goal attempts and limited the Senators to a mere 33.9 percent (19-of-56) shooting clip. They also forced 26 turnovers and came away with a season-high 15 steals in the game.

Senior guard Martyce Kimbrough paced Findlay with 25 points on 10-of-16 shooting. Kimbrough also chipped in four rebounds, three steals and two assists in the win.

Freshman guard Tommy Schmock reached double figures off the bench as he scored 11 points to go along with six assists, a career-high five steals, and three rebounds.

Senior forward Taren Sullivan recorded eight points and seven rebounds, junior forward Alex White had eight points and three rebounds, junior guard Trey Smith had seven points and four steals, and sophomore forward Aaron Overhiser registered seven points and five boards.

Kevin Simpson led the Senators with 19 points off the bench.

The Oilers will be back in action again on Jan. 2 when they host Ohio Dominican University at 6pm in Croy Gymnasium.
