#21 Oilers Beat Storm 65-59

The University of Findlay men's basketball team defeated Lake Erie College by a score of 65-59 on Jan. 6 in Painesville, Ohio. The win gives the 21st-ranked Oilers a 16-2 record on the season with a 10-0 mark in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC). The victory also extended their winning streak to 12 games on the season.

The Oilers shot 45.3 percent (24-of-53) from the floor and hit only 10-of-21 (47.6%) tries from the free throw line in the game. They were also out-rebounded by a 43-30 margin, but forced 15 turnovers.

Senior forward Taren Sullivan led Findlay with 15 points on 6-of-11 shooting while senior guard Martyce Kimbrough had 14 points on 5-of-14 shooting.

Junior forward Alex White also reached double figures in the game, scoring 12 points to go along with 11 rebounds.

Freshman forward Anthony Masterlasco provided a spark off the bench in the second half with six points on 3-of-4 shooting.

The Storm, who shot 40.4 percent (23-of-57) from the floor, were led by Gabe Kynard and Brogan Scott, who each scored ten points apiece.

The Oilers will be back in action again on Jan. 13 when they travel to Hillsdale, Mich. to face Hillsdale College at 3pm.
