#11 Oilers Beat Walsh | Earn at Least a Share of League Title

The University of Findlay men's basketball team earned at least a share of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) regular season title with a 72-60 win over Walsh University on Feb. 3 in Canton, Ohio. The victory gives the Oilers a 21-3 record on the season with a 15-1 mark in the league.

The Oilers shot 44.1 percent (26-of-59) from the floor and out-rebounded the Cavaliers by a 41-28 margin. Coming into the game, Walsh ranked fifth among all NCAA Division II teams with a +10.5 rebounding margin on the year. They also limited the Cavaliers to a mere 39.3 percent (22-of-56) shooting clip in the win.

Senior guard Martyce Kimbrough paced the Oilers with 19 points, three rebounds and two assists while senior guard Elijah Kahlig had 14 points.

Junior guard Trey Smith recorded ten points in the game while junior forward Alex White posted eight points and 12 rebounds.

Freshman guard Tommy Schmock provided a spark off the bench with six points and freshman forward Anthony Masterlasco added four points and three boards.

The Cavaliers were led by Steven Carpenter's 18 points.
