Sullivan | Kimbrough Honored by NABC

Senior forward Taren Sullivan was named first team all-Midwest Region by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) on March 16.

Sullivan, who was a first team all-region pick by the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) as well, earned Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Player of the Year accolades for the Oilers during the 2017-18 campaign. A first team all-league pick, Sullivan sported averages of 17.2 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game while helping lead Findlay to a Sweet 16 appearance and an overall record of 28-5.

Sullivan shot 52.6 percent from the field and also canned 41.6 percent of his three point attempts. He racked up 534 points during the year, the 20th-highest total in school history.

The Lima, Ohio native ranks 12th all-time at Findlay with 1,595 career points and has been named to the Midwest Region all-tournament team twice during his tenure with the program. He was also named all-Midwest Region by the NABC last year as well.

In addition, senior guard Martyce Kimbrough captured second team all-Midwest Region honors for his performance during the 2017-18 campaign.

Kimbrough led the Oilers in scoring at 17.7 points per game and racked up 584 points this season, the ninth-highest total in school history. He also hit 104 three pointers and averaged 3.0 rebounds and 1.9 assists per contest.

The Lima, Ohio native earned all-Midwest Region honors last year as well and was an honorable mention All-American. He finished his career with 298 made three pointers, the second-best total in school history, and ranks 11th all-time with 1,650 points. His 3.2 made three pointers per game is by far the highest total in Findlay history as well.
