#23 Oilers Beat Quincy 91-86

The University of Findlay men's basketball team, ranked 23rd in the nation, held on for a 91-86 win over Quincy University on Nov. 10 in Kirksville, Mo. The victory pushes the Oilers record to 2-0 on the season.

The Oilers went up 18 points at 58-40 before the Hawks began chipping away at the lead. The Hawks then closed the gap to only four points with 13 seconds to play, but ran out of time in the end.

Findlay shot 50.8 percent (31-of-61) from the floor and connected on 13-of-25 (52%) of their three point tries in the victory. They also recorded 24 assists and blocked five shots.

Junior forward Aaron Overhiser led the way with a career-high 24 points on 7-of-11 shooting. He also recorded five rebounds and a career-high four assists.

Senior forward Alex White tied his career-high with 22 points on 10-of-18 shooting and also contributed eight boards and three blocks.

Sophomore guard Tommy Schmock also established a new career-high with 15 points and splashed a career-high four three pointers in the game.

Sophomore forward Anthony Masterlasco also reached double figures with ten points while freshman guard Ethan Linder came off the bench to provide seven points, three rebounds and a pair of assists.

Findlay will now make the trip home and prepare to host Saginaw Valley State on Nov. 17. The game is scheduled to tip at 3 p.m. in Croy Gymnasium.
