The University of Findlay men's basketball team ripped off their eighth straight victory by defeating Kentucky Wesleyan College 89-71 on Jan. 18 in Niekamp Arena. The win gives the Oilers a 12-5 record on the season with a 7-1 mark in Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) play.

The Oilers shot over 60 percent from the floor for the second straight game, hitting 60.7 percent (37-of-61) of their attempts against the Panthers. They also canned 10-of-21 (47.6%) tries from behind the three point line and scored 50 points in the paint.

Sophomore guard Ethan Linder paced Findlay with 17 points on 7-of-8 shooting. He also recorded four assists and grabbed three rebounds in the victory.

Junior forward Chazz George came off the bench to provide 12 points on 5-of-7 shooting while junior forward Anthony Masterlasco had ten. George also finished with three rebounds, two assists, and two steals while Masterlasco had four rebounds and a pair of assists.

Junior guard Tommy Schmock nearly recorded a double-double with eight points and 11 assists while junior forward Brady Wildermuth and freshman forward Nathan Bruns ended the game with nine and eight points, respectively.

The Panthers, who shot 52.8 percent (28-of-53) from the floor, were led by Adam Goetz's 14 points.

The Oilers will now prepare for a showdown in Canton, Ohio on Jan. 25 against Walsh University. The tip is scheduled for 3pm.
