Oilers 8-Game Winning Streak Ends at Walsh

The University of Findlay men's basketball team saw their eight-game winning streak come to a close in Canton, Ohio on Jan. 25 as they fell 81-72 to Walsh University. The loss gives the Oilers a 12-6 record on the season with a 7-2 mark in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC).

The Oilers shot 55.8 percent (29-of-52) from the floor while the Cavaliers, who are now 18-2 on the year, connected on 53.6 percent (30-of-56) of their shot attempts.

Sophomore guard Ethan Linder paced the Oilers with 18 points on 6-of-9 shooting while senior forward Aaron Overhiser had 17 points on 8-of-10 shooting.

Junior guard Tommy Schmock also reached double figures for Findlay with 11 points to go along with six rebounds and four assists.

Freshman forward Nathan Bruns nearly reached double figures with eight points while junior forwards Anthony Masterlasco and Chazz George had five points apiece.

The Cavaliers were led by Darryl Straughter's game-high 27 points. Alphonso Baity added 19 points as well.

The Oilers will be back in action again on Jan. 30 when they host Malone University at 7:30 p.m.
