Oilers Finish 3rd at Al Watrous Memorial

The University of Findlay men's golf team placed third at the Al Watrous Memorial Invitational, which concluded on Sunday, September 11 at the Bay Valley Country Club in Saginaw, Michigan.  The Oilers ended the tournament with a 2-over par score of 578 (292, 286).

The Oilers two-round score was the third best in school history while their 286 during the final round was the fourth best mark in UF history.

Individually, Michael Schmitmeyer finished second with a 5-under par score of 139, the third best mark in school history. 

Schmitmeyer shot a 72 in the opening round and then came back with a 5-under par score of 67 in the second round, which is the second best round in school history.

Logan Cooke (73, 71 - 144) finished tied for 13th while Marcus Hunt (73, 74 - 147) tied for 25th.

Jake North (77, 74 - 151) and Jack Kastor (74, 79 - 153) also competed for Findlay at the event.

The Oilers will be back in action again on September 17 at the Northwood Invitational in Midland, Michigan.
