Schmitmeyer Named All-Midwest Region

Senior Michael Schmitmeyer of The University of Findlay men's golf team was tabbed Ping all-Midwest Region performer by the Golf Coaches Association of America on Wednesday, June 6.

Schmitmeyer, a first team all-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) this season, finished second in the conference with a 72.57 scoring average.

The 2009 GLIAC Freshman of the Year, Schmitmeyer earned second team all-conference honors during his freshman and junior seasons and was a first team all-league pick during his sophomore year.
