Hunt Leads Men's Golf Team at ODU Classic

The University of Findlay men's golf team took fifth at the 2013 Ohio Dominican University Kickoff Classic, which was held on Tuesday, Sept. 3 at the Jefferson Country Club in Blacklick, Ohio.

The Oilers took fifth with a 36-hole score of 620 (316, 304) while the host Panthers claimed the title with a 605 (303, 302).

Marcus Hunt paved the way for the Oilers after carding a 148, which was good for third place.  Hunt shot a 73 in the opening round and then came back with a 75 in the second to give him his 148 (+4).

Jake North and Dustin Lieber each tied for tenth after the golfers posted a 151.  North shot a 79 in the first round and then fired a 72 in the second for his score.  Lieber meanwhile carded a 76 for the first 18 holes and then fired a 75 in the final 18 holes for his total.

Matthew Fisher added a top-20 finish with a 153 (78, 75), which was good for 15th at the event.

Adam Johnson (83, 74 – 157), Kirby Doidge (84, 76 – 160), Jack Kastor (83, 78 – 161), Chien-Han Sung (81, 81 – 162), Stephen Sinchok (84, 79 – 163) and Matt Hermiller (85, 85 – 170) also competed for Findlay in the field of 69 golfers.

The Oilers will be back out on the course again on Sept. 13-14 at the Malone Invitational.  The event is scheduled to be played at the Tannenhauf Golf Course in Alliance, Ohio.
