Hunt Leads Oilers at 1st NCAA Regional

The University of Findlay men's golf team placed tenth out of 33 teams at the first NCAA Regional event of the year, which concluded on Monday, Sept. 30 at the Harborside International Golf Center in Chicago, Ill.

The Oilers shot a two-round score of 598 (295, 303) at the event and were led by Marcus Hunt, who tied for sixth place with a 145.

Hunt shot a 3-under par score of 69 in the opening round and then carded a 76 in the final round for his total.

Dustin Lieber tied for 13th after posting a 146 (72, 74) while Stephen Sinchok (77, 75 – 152), Matthew Fisher (77, 79 – 156) and Jack Kastor (79, 78 – 157) also competed for the Oilers in the field of 165 golfers.

The Oilers will now ready themselves for the 2013 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championship, which is scheduled to take place on Oct. 5-7 at the Eagle Eye Golf Club in East Lansing, Mich.
