The University of Findlay men's golf team completed the first day of their NCAA Regional event at Harborside International in Chicago, Ill. on Sep. 29.

The Oilers are tied for 18th after day one with a combined score of 304.

Individually, junior Dustin Lieber had an outstanding day for Findlay as he finished with the seventh lowest 18-hole score in school history.

Lieber, who is in second place at the event, fired a 4-under par score of 68 on Monday and trails Tiffin's Tyler Maranville by one stroke heading into the final day.

Senior Jack Kastor carded a 78 and is tied for 94th while seniors Stephen Sinchok and Jake North are both tied for 107th after they each posted a 79 on the first day.

Freshman Andrew Stevens is also competing for Findlay and is tied for 134th with an 81.

The tournament, which features 169 golfers, will conclude tomorrow.
