Oilers Take 2nd | Luke Kelly is First Medalist since 2014

Calumet City, IL - The University of Findlay men's golf team battled the wind on the second day of the NCAA DII Midwest Regional and moved up six spots to finish second in the field of 25 teams. The Oilers shot a 305 on Tuesday, September 27, the lowest single round team score of the week.

Freshman Luke Kelly led the charge and became the first Findlay men's golfer since Marcus Hunt in March of 2014 to win a tournament. Kelly fired a 76 (+4) on Tuesday to give him a two-day total of 150 which tied three other players for the top spot.

Sophomore Dylan DeWitt and junior Cam Wardley were the next two finishers for the Oilers with DeWitt shooting a 78 (+6) for tournament score of 154 and Wardley shooting a 75 (+3) for a score of 155. They finished in 10th and 13th, respectively.

Freshman Sam Griffith saw great improvement from his first round score as he carded a 76 (+4) in round two. That was an 11 shot improvement from Monday's round to give him a two-day score of 163.

The men will be back on the course this weekend, October 1-2 for the Kyle Ryman Invitational held in Tiffin, Ohio.
