Findlay Ties Seven Year Old School Record in Tiffin

Tiffin, OH – The University of Findlay men's golf team competed on the first day of the Kyle Ryman Memorial Tournament held at Mohawk Country Club. Day one of competition included 36 holes of golf and saw the Oilers shoot a 299 in the morning session and rallied to shoot a 284 in the afternoon round. That second-round score is tied for the best in school history, matching the team's score from the 2009 NCAA Spring Regional. Findlay's two-round total of 583 has them in a tie for fourth place with 18 holes to play.

Sophomore Dylan Dewitt led the way for Findlay and has finished the day in a tie for 14th overall. He is currently at 146 (+2) for the tournament after carding a 76 (+4) in the morning round and a 70 (-2) in the afternoon session.

Junior Justin Roth was also inside the top 20 and currently sits in a tie for 19th after a 147 (+3). His best round was in the morning where he shot a 71 (-1). He came back with a 76 (+4) in the afternoon round.

Freshman Sam Griffith and junior Cam Wardley are each tied for 28th after carding a pair of 148's (+4). They each shot identical morning and afternoon rounds with a 76 (+4) a 72 (E).

A pair of freshman round out the top 40 for Findlay as Drew Prater and Luke Kelly are currently in T34 (149) and T40 (150), respectively. Prater shot rounds of 70 and 79 while Kelly carded an 80 in the morning and a 70 in the afternoon.

Freshman Chase Lakari, freshman Grant Ricketts, and sophomore James Riepenhoff are all tied in 59th after posting scores of 154 in the first two rounds. Lakari and Rickets shot rounds of 78 and 76 while Riepenhoff shot a 76 and followed with a 78.

Freshman Cameron Bruce is currently in T70 with a 156 after carding rounds of 77 and 79.

Findlay will be back on the course for the conclusion of the tournament tomorrow morning, October 2.
