Golf Competes Against Some of DII's Best at Duran

Viera, Fla. – The University of Findlay men's golf team played 36 holes on the first day of the Panther Invitational on Monday, March 6. The two-day event, played at the Duran Golf Club, includes 15 teams, six of which are ranked in the top 25 in the country. Findlay shot a 320 in the first round of the day and finished with a 317 in round two. Their total of 637 has them in 13th place with 18 holes to play.

Junior Justin Roth led the way for Findlay with a two-round score of 154 which has him in a tie for 31st. He posted an 80 in the first 18 holes and came back with a +2, 74 to close out the day.

Sophomore Dylan DeWitt and freshman Sam Griffith each shot 159 for the day. DeWitt had the best first round for the Oilers with a 78 and came back with an 81 in round two while Griffith posted an 80 and a 79. They are in a tied for 55th.

Freshman Luke Kelly carded a 168 with an 82 and an 83 while junior Cam Wardley posted scores of 82 and 85 for a 167. Kelly is tied for 73rd while Wardley is tied in 77th.

Freshman Cameron Bruce, competing as an individual, shot a 77 in the first round and came back with an 84 in round two for a score of 161. He is tied in 61st.
