DeWitt Fires Career-Best 68 for Oilers in Tennessee

Old Hickory, TN – The University of Findlay men's golf team wrapped up the Music City Regional on Tuesday, April 4 in Old Hickory, Tennessee. The event was played at the par 72, 6,790 yard Hermitage Golf Course. Findlay moved up four spots in the field after the second round to finish the event in a tie for 17th overall with a score of 602. The Oilers improved on their first round score by 16 shots as they teamed up for a 293 in the final round.

Sophomore Dylan DeWitt led the way for the Oilers with a career-best score of 68 (-4) in the second round. That score is tied for the third-lowest in school history and is the lowest round by an Oilers' player in three years. DeWitt finished the tournament in a tied for 22nd with a 146 (+2) after tying for the tournament lead with ten birdies in the two rounds.

Junior Cam Wardley was just one shot behind DeWitt overall after shooting a 74 (+2) in the second round of action. Wardley ended in a tie for 32nd overall with a tournament score of 147 (+3).

Freshman Luke Kelly and Cameron Bruce were the next two finishers for the Oilers. Kelly carded a 79 (+7) on the day to finish with a 154 (+10) for the event while Bruce had a great day, shooting an even-par 72 to finish with a 155 (+11). The two finished in a tie for 83rd and a tie for 88th, respectively.

Rounding out the team score was freshman Sam Griffith who ended the tournament in a tie for 109th overall with a 162 (+18). He improved on his first round score by four strokes to shoot 79 (+7) in round two.

Findlay is back on the course on April 9-10 when they play in the third NCAA Regional event of the year, this one to be hosted in Noblesville, Ind.
