Thunderstorms Cancel Final Round at Purgatory

Noblesville, IN – The University of Findlay men's golf team was set to play the final two rounds of the NCAA Regional #3 at Purgatory Golf Club on Monday, April 10. The first wave of groups was able to complete their rounds, but the skies opened up and the second wave was unable to finish, therefore no scores were allowed to be posted and scores from the first round are now final. Findlay posted a score of 304 and found themselves in a tie for twelfth overall out of 29 teams.

Freshman Luke Kelly paced the Oilers with a 73 (+1) on the day. He tied for ninth in par 4 scoring for the event at even par, tied for tenth with 13 pars made. He finished tied for 14th in the tournament.

Junior Justin Roth and freshman Sam Griffith hold the next two spots for Findlay after carding scores of 76 (+4) and 77 (+5) in the event. Roth tied for 40th overall while Griffith tied for 57th.

The final two players for Findlay were sophomore Dylan DeWitt and junior Cam Wardley. DeWitt finished in a tie for 74th after shooting a 78 (+6) while Wardley ended in a tie for 100th after posting an 80 (+8).

The Oilers are now off until the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championship which will be held at Virtues Golf Course in Nashport, Ohio.
