Oilers Finish Strong at Al Watrous Memorial

Bay City, MI - The University of Findlay men's golf team finished the Al Watrous Memorial on a high note on Sunday, September 10. The Oilers shot a 291 on the second day for a 582 total for the tournament. With that number, Findlay finishes the event in fourth place out of 16 teams. Grand Valley State took the top spot with a tournament record 560 while Hillsdale took second and Saginaw Valley State took third.

Sophomore Cameron Bruce and sophomore Luke Kelly were stellar on Sunday, each shooting a three-under, 69. Bruce ends the event in fourth place overall with a 36-hole score of 142 (-2) while Kelly finished with a 144 (E), good enough for a T12 finish. 

After a sub-par a round on Saturday, senior Justin Roth carded a 76 in the final round 76 to finish the event in T28 with a 147 while fellow senior Cam Wardley shot a 78 in Sunday's round to finish with a 150 (T45).

Sophomore Grant Ricketts ends the event with a 152 after a 77 in the second round. He finished in a tie fo 63rd.

Competing as an individual, junior Dylan DeWitt ends the event in T50 with a 151. He shot a 79 on Saturday but came back with an even-par 72 on Sunday. Also competing as an individual was senior Nicholas Graf who carded rounds of 79 and 84 to finish in 94th.

The Oilers men will be back on the course September 18-19 for the G-MAC Fall Invitational which will be held at the Findlay Country Club.
