Kelly's Ace Leads Oilers on Day 1 of G-MAC Fall Invite

The University of Findlay men's golf team is currently leading the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Fall Invitational with a 287, the fifth-best 18-hole score in school history.

The Oilers, who are hosting the tournament at the Findlay Country Club, were led by sophomore Luke Kelly on day one. Kelly leads the tournament with a 2-under par score of 70 and had the highlight of the round by acing the par-3 12th from 158 yards out with a 9-iron. Kelly also recorded 11 pars during his round and mixed in three birdies.

Sophomore Cameron Bruce and senior Cam Wardley are each tied for sixth as they both recorded an even-par score of 72 while senior Justin Roth (73) and junior Dylan DeWitt (77) are tied for eighth and 24th, respectively.

As a team, the Oilers led the field with 16 birdies and posted 54 pars, the second-best total on day one.

The tournament will conclude tomorrow.
