Oilers Take 5th at Fall Invitational

The University of Findlay men's golf team wrapped up day two of their Fall Invitational on Sep. 25 at the Findlay Country Club. The Oilers tied for fifth at the tournament with a 590 (299, 291). In addition the Findlay B team finished 12th (296, 313 – 609) and the Findlay C team placed 14th (308, 314 – 622).

Individually, sophomore Luke Kelly paced Findlay with a 4-under par score of 140 for the tournament. Kelly, who finished in a tie for third, shot a 69 in the first round and a 71 in the second. He also ranked third in the field with nine birdies during the 36 holes of competition. His 4-under par score of 140 was also the third-best 36-hole performance in the history of the Oilers men's golf team.

Sophomore Sam Griffith finished in a tie for 16th with a 2-over par score of 146 (69, 77) while junior Dylan DeWitt posted a 5-over par score of 149 (76, 73), which was good for 25th. Griffith also posted nine birdies and led the field in par-5 scoring by going -7 on those holes. DeWitt meanwhile finished second among all golfers with 27 pars.

Sophomore Cameron Bruce (76, 74) and senior Ryan Wilburn (72, 78) tied for 35th while senior Cam Wardley tied for 48th with a 152 (78, 74).

Sophomore Peyton Cooper (77, 77, 154), junior James Riepenhoff (77, 78 – 155), senior Justin Roth (82, 73 – 155), freshman Grant Williams (77, 79 – 156), freshman Parker Haynes (77, 80 – 157), sophomore Drew Prater )(78, 79 – 157), senior Nicholas Graf (77, 81 – 158), freshman Brock Kehres (78, 80 – 158), sophomore Grant Ricketts (76, 79 – 165) and sophomore Andrew Bruns (85, 82 – 167) also competed for Findlay at the event.
