Oilers In Ninth After 36 Holes at Kyle Ryman

Tiffin, Ohio - The University of Findlay men's golf team took on 36 holes on Saturday, September 30 at the Kyle Ryman Memorial at Mohawk Country Club, hosted by Tiffin University. Through two rounds of play, the Oilers sit in ninth place of a 21-team field with a team score of 594 (293 / 301).

Senior Justin Roth led the way for Findlay and is currently in sixth place overall. In the morning round, Roth carded a 73 (+1) but then came back in the afternoon and made four birdies en route to a -2, 70, giving him a total for the day of 143 (-1).

Fellow senior Cam Wardley also began his day with a 73, but finished with a 75 and currently is in a tie for 29th with a 148 (+4). Three shots behind Wardley is junior Dylan DeWitt who also began his day with a 73. In the second round, despite a double-bogey on the eighth hole, DeWitt picked up a pair of of birdies on the back nine to close out his round with a 78 (+6) and is currently in a tie for 49th with a 151.

Sophomore Luke Kelly opened his day with a 74 and came back with a 78 in the second round for a total of 152 on the day, good enough for a tie for 52nd overall. Fellow sophomore Cameron Bruce, who qualified in the top spot for the Oilers this week, shot rounds of 78 and 80 to finish with a 158 after day one. He is currently in a tie for 83rd overall.

Competing as an individual for Findlay is sophomore Sam Griffith. Griffith shot an even-par, 72 in the opening round and finished his day with an 83 and now finds himself in a tie for 75th overall with a score of 155.

The Oilers will be back on the course tomorrow for the final day of competition in Tiffin.
