Oilers Take 9th at Kyle Ryman Memorial
The University of Findlay men's golf team wrapped up the final day of the Kyle Ryman Memorial on Oct. 1 at the Mohawk Golf and Country Club in Tiffin, Ohio. The Oilers shot a 297 on the second day and ended the tournament in ninth place with a 54-hole score of 893 (293, 303, 297).
Senior Justin Roth paced the Oilers at the event and tied for 13th with a 217. Roth posted a 1-over par score of 73 in the opening round before coming back with a 2-under par round of 70 in the second. He then closed the tournament with a 2-over par 74 during the final 18 holes on Saturday.
Senior Cam Wardley tied for 23rd with a 221 (73, 75, 73) while sophomore Luke Kelly tied for 45th among all golfers with a 226 (74, 78, 74). Wardley was aided in his round by a hole-in-one, which happened on the par-3, 144-yard hole 15.
Sophomore Sam Griffith tied for 57th with a 228 (72, 83, 73) and sophomore Cameron Bruce tied for 88th with a 236 (78, 80, 78).
Junior Dylan DeWitt posted a 73 in the opening round, but received a disqualification in round two. He then followed with a 76 in the final round.
The Oilers will hit the links again on Oct. 9-10 at the Missouri-St. Louis Fall Invitational. The event will take place at Fox Run Golf Course in Eureka, Mo.
