Owensboro, Kentucky- The University of Findlay men's golf finished their final round of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Fall Preview at The Pearl Club on Tuesday, September 17. The Oilers entered the round with a five stroke lead, and went on to win the event by 14 strokes to earn their third consecutive tournament win. The Oilers shot a first round total of 283 (-5) then followed up with a 276 (-12) which set a new 18-hole school record.

The Oilers were led by Caleb Westfall who finished in a tie for second. Westfall shot 139 (-5) for the tournament after two sub-par rounds of 69 (-3) and 70 (-2).

Following Westfall were seniors Luke Kelly and Sam Griffith. Kelly finished his first round of play with a 73 (+1) and today shot a 68 (-4) to finish the tournament at 141 (-3). Griffith shot 72 (E) in yesterday's opening round and came back with a 69 (-3) today for a two-round total of 141. Kelly and Griffith finished tied for fifth in the tournament.

Rounding out the Oilers scores were Hunter Foltz and Parker Haynes. Foltz finished in seventh after 36 holes of play. His two round total of 142 (-2) included a 69 (-3) and 73 (+1). Haynes began the day in 19th with a 75(+3) but, after a second round score of 69 (-3), jumped ten spots to finish tied for ninth.

With the win, the Oilers are a perfect three-for-three, winning every tournament they have played in this season.

Their final round score of 276 breaks the previous record set just ten days ago on Sep. 7 at the Ohio Cup.

The Oilers will look to keep the momentum going as they prepare for their second home event of the fall, the Doc Spragg Fall Invitational at Findlay Country Club on Monday, September 23 and Tuesday, September 24.
