Lakers Top Oilers 2-1 In Erie

The University of Findlay men's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision to Mercyhurst College on Friday, September 24 in Erie, Pennsylvania. The non-conference loss gives the Oilers a 1-5-1 record on the season.

The Lakers scored two goals in the opening period before Gary Brown got the Oilers on the scoreboard early in the second half on a deflection into the bottom corner of the net.

The Lakers held an overwhelming 27-2 advantage in the shot department as Alex Jurek took the loss by allowing two goals in one half of play.

Matthew Brooks came on in relief of Jurek to start the second half and made four saves.

The Oilers will be back in action again on September 26 when they host Ohio Dominican University in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) action beginning at 3:30 p.m. on DeHaven Field.
