Oilers Tie Cardinals 1-1

The University of Findlay men's soccer team tied Saginaw Valley State University 1-1 in double overtime on Saturday, October 23 at DeHaven Field in Findlay, Ohio. The tie gives the Oilers a 2-9-3 record on the season with a 1-7-2 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).

Joey Gogolin broke a 0-0 tie with only 11 minutes to play in the game when he found the back of the net off of a header. Nick Pahren assisted on the play.

Leading 1-0 with time winding down, the Oilers gave up a goal with only 44 seconds remaining in the contest to tie the game and send it into overtime where both teams remained scoreless.

Matthew Brooks made six saves in the net for the Oilers who held a 27-17 advantage in the shot department.

The Oilers will be back in action again on October 26 when they travel to Rensselaer, Indiana to face Saint Joseph's College at 5:30 p.m.
