Panthers Defeat Oilers 5-2

The Oilers struck first in Columbus against Ohio Dominican on Sunday, as Gary Brown headed a Nick Pahlen corner off the crossbar and into the Panther net at 22:14. UF clung to the 1-0 lead at the intermission.

It only took ODU 35 seconds to answer with a penalty kick goal to knot the match at 1-1. Over the ensuing 38 minutes the home team would ice the win with four more goals.

Alex Oliver adjusted the score to 5-2 with an eight-yard winner off a header from Logan Lipinski at 74:02.

ODU fired 22 shots and UF keepers Matthew Brooks and Alex Jurek each recorded two saves. The Oilers took 16 shots and forced the Panther keeper to save two. ODU was awarded eight corners to Findlay's three.

The loss drops UF to 1-6-1 in GLIAC play and 2-8-2 overall. ODU improves to 7-1-1, second in the GLIAC, and 10-3-1 on the season.

Findlay hosts Northwood on October 21 in a match that kicks-off at 4pm.
