Oilers and Wolves Battle To 0-0 Tie

The UF men's soccer team shut-out Northwood University through two overtime periods to earn a 0-0 tie at Midland on Friday afternoon.

Oiler goalkeeper Alex Jurek made six saves during the marathon contest, four in the extra periods, while Northwood's Matt Renouf was credited with five. The Timberwolves doubled-up UF in shots 16 to 8, while corner kicks were nearly even with four by NU compared to Findlay's three.

Joey Gogolin and Brennan Williams each put two shots on goal for the Oilers.

Findlay now stands at 1-2-1 in GLIAC play and 1-3-2 overall, while Northwood is 1-1-1 in the GLIAC and 3-1-1 overall.

The Oilers next face the Saginaw Valley State Cardinals in a contest at University Center on Sunday with kickoff scheduled for 2:30pm.
