Oilers Pull Out 2-1 Overtime Win Against Urbana

The University of Findlay men's soccer team defeated Urbana University by the score of 2-1 on Friday, Sept. 7th in Findlay, Ohio.

After allowing the first goal in the 33rd-minute of the first half, the Oilers tied the game with five minutes left in the second half when Damani Storms rolled one in from inside the goal box.  The two teams would then battle to a draw the rest of the way as the contest headed into an extra session.

In overtime, Findlay sealed the win in dramatic fashion when Mark Sleasman headed in the game-winning goal off a cross from Ryan Poyle with only seconds remaining.

Matthew Brooks picked up the win the net for the Oilers by making four saves.

Both teams were evenly matched as Urbana held a slight 17-16 lead in the shot department.  Findlay was more aggressive however, registering 16 fouls in the win.

With the win, the Oilers are now 2-0 going into Sunday when they travel to Columbus, Ohio to take on Ohio Dominican University. The game is slated for a 3:30 p.m. kick off.
