Oilers Win Third Straight, Defeat Ohio Dominican

Box Score

The University of Findlay men's soccer team won their third straight game to remain undefeated on Sunday, Sept. 9 against Ohio Dominican in Columbus, Ohio.

Findlay struck first in the 15th minute of the first half when Ryan Poyle netted one from 20 yards out.

The score would remain 1-0 until Ohio Dominican answered with the equalizer in the 58th minute. However, the tie wouldn't last long as Mark Sleasman gave the Oilers the lead just five-minutes later in the 63rd minute to make the score 2-1.

Solid defensive play was the key to Findlay's win, allowing only three shots on goal the entire match, allowing Matthew Brooks to pick up his third win in as many tries between the posts.

The win give the Oilers a 3-0 overall mark on the season with a 1-0 mark in GLIAC play.

Findlay will be back in action on Friday, Sept. 14 when they travel to Saginaw Valley State University.
