Oilers Fall In Ashland

The University of Findlay men's soccer team was defeated 3-0 by Ashland University on Sunday, Sept. 23 in Ashland, Ohio.

The Eagles took the lead in the 15th minute of the match and never looked back, tacking on goals in the 39th and 74th minutes for the shutout win.

Despite the loss, the Oilers equaled Ashland in shots with 20, and nine shots on goal - One more than Ashland. Findlay also played a clean game, committing only two fouls in the contest.

Matthew Brooks saved four of seven shots he faced, taking the loss between the pipes for the Oilers, dropping his record to 3-3 on the season. Alex Jurek took over for Brooks in the second half and tallied two saves.

With the loss, Findlay falls to 3-4 on the season with a 1-4 mark in GLIAC play. They will be back in action on Friday, Sept. 28 when they host Walsh.
