The University of Findlay men's soccer team defeated Oakland City University by the score of 2-1 on Sunday, Oct. 21 in Findlay, Ohio.
After an Oakland City goal in the 27th minute of the first half, the Oilers were able to tie the game in the 53rd minute of the second half when Nick Soncrant found the back of the net from about 25 yards out.
Then, in the 73rd minute, Ryan Poyle was able to corral a deflected ball in the box just long enough to put it away for the game winning goal.
Findlay's defense played a stellar game, allowing only one Oakland City shot the entire match, outshooting their opponent 15-1.
With the win, the Oilers move to 5-8-1 on the season. They will be back in action on Friday, Oct. 26 to take on Saginaw Valley at home.
