Oiler Soccer wins 3-2 Against Lake Erie Storm

The University of Findlay men's soccer team won their match 3-2 against Lake Erie College on  Sunday, Sep. 20 at DeHaven Field. This win takes the team to a 3-2-0 record in the season.

The men started the game with an action packed first half scoring 2 goals in the first 5 minutes of the game. The Oilers first goal was scored 36 seconds in to the game by sophomore Ryan Husband. The second goal followed shortly after with senior Mark Sleasman scoring off an assist from Husband in the third minute of play. Freshman Michael Shaikly finished the Oilers last goal off a mishandling from Lake Erie Keeper Filip Ljubevski.

Lake Erie's first goal was scored 20 seconds into the game by Chad Bencina. The Oilers gave up an own goal in the 83rd-minute giving the final score for the game There were 7 total cautions given during the match.  Findlay earned 4 of those yellow cards.

The Oilers are on the road Friday, Sep. 25 to play their next conference game against Saginaw Valley State University.
