Oilers Triumph Over Eagles

Findlay, OH-The University of Findlay men's soccer team overcame the Ashland University Eagles on Friday, September 30. This win gives the Oilers a 3-6 overall record and a 2-5 conference record.

 Eight minutes into the first half, sophomore Michael Shaikly capitalized off of an assist from sophomore Josh Burton to slot the ball in the left post, ending the half with the Oilers up 1-0.

At the end of the first half, the Oilers had eight shots to the Eagle's two shots.  Junior goalkeeper Ben Richter had one save and Ashland also had one save to end the half. 

In the second half, the Oilers and the Eagles fought to put the ball in the back of the net.

The Oilers defense, lead by junior Bailey Crawford and freshman Kegan Winkler shut out the Eagles from scoring, ending the game in the Oilers favor 1-0.

The Oilers outshot the Eagles thirteen to six, with the Oilers having five shots on goal and the Eagles having three shots on goal.

Findlay will take the pitch again on Sunday, October 2 against Ohio Dominican University at 1:00pm at Armstrong Sports Complex.
