Box Score

Philippi, WV – The University of Findlay men's soccer team was victorious in a G-MAC contest against Alderson Broaddus on Saturday, September 30. The win boosts the Oilers to a 7-2 overall record with a 6-2 record in Great Midwest competition.

The Oilers fell to a 0-1 deficit in the first half when the Battlers scored a goal in the 30th minute of the contest. The lead would not last long, as Findlay quickly responded with a goal by freshman Marcel Munger on an assist by freshman Josh Hales. This was Munger's first goal of the season.

Findlay was not done yet, as junior Marlon McFarlane added a goal of his own at the end of the first period to put the Oilers in the lead going into halftime.

Second half scoring was quiet until Findlay added its third goal of the match by way of sophomore Josh Dickinson, finding the back of the net for the first time this year.

The Oilers fired off eight shots during the match, with five of those being on goal. Senior Ben Richter picked up the win in front of the net and recorded three saves on the night.

Findlay will be back on the pitch Thursday, October 5 when they host Walsh for another G-MAC conference matchup. The contest is set to begin at 1:00 PM.
