Oilers Lose to Senators

Elkins, WV – The University of Findlay men's soccer team fell to Davis and Elkins College on Saturday, October 6 with a final score of 2-0. The Oilers drop to 2-10 on the season with a 2-7 record in conference play. The Senators move to 4-5-2 on the season with a 3-4-2 record in conference play.

Davis and Elkins came out pressuring the Oilers with a few quick shots. Senior Nathan Sier was in goal for Findlay and made two saves to hold off the Senators. Unfortunately, the shots kept coming and Davis and Elkins was able to put one on the score board in the 13th minute of the match.

The Oilers then had a corner kick opportunity but were unable to capitalize off it, sending the ball back to the Senators offensive end. Davis and Elkins then had another goal in the 21st minute, increasing their lead to 2-0. The Oilers were only able to get two shots off in the first half, ending the half down by two.

The tides shifted in the second half with Findlay outshooting the Senators 10 to 2. However, the Oilers were never able to put one past the Senators goalie, finishing the game with another loss.

Senior Josh Burton took five shots while senior Connor Lynch had two. In goal, Nathan Sier had five saves total in the loss.

The Oilers will be home at DeHaven Field to face Kentucky Wesleyan on Thursday, October 11. The conference game will begin at 4:00 PM.
