Oilers Win Over Ashland on Senior Day

Findlay, Ohio- The University of Findlay men's soccer team hosted the visiting Ashland University Eagles in their last Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) matchup of the season. 

The first 45 minutes of the game saw little action as neither team could find momentum on the offensive end.

Findlay would break through in the scoreless match in the 52nd minute of play when sophomore Brendan Ash found the back of the net off an assist from fellow sophomore Christian Palushaj to put the Oilers up by a goal.

The Eagles would tie the game in the 72nd minute at 1-1 off a penalty kick due to a foul on the Oilers in the box. 

Junior Nick McCracken would score the game winning goal in the 79th minute off an assist from Ash to give the Oilers a 2-1 lead with ten minutes remaining.

Senior Julio Gomes would start in goal for the Oilers. Junior Andrew Boulton would come into goal for the Oilers later in the contest and recorded eight saves.

With the win the Oilers moved to 9-7-1 on the season and 7-6-1in the G-MAC. Findlay will await the final G-MAC contest results to find out their potential seeding for the conference tournament.
