Season Ends in G-MAC Quarterfinal at Lake Erie

Painesville, OH- The University of Findlay men's Soccer team traveled to Painesville, OH on Saturday, Oct. 29 for the first round of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Championship Tournament. Lake Erie scored three first half goals as the Oilers went on to lose by a score of 4-1. The loss ends Findlay's season with a 9-8-1 record overall while the Storm go on to the G-MAC semifinals with a record of 10-6-3.

Lake Erie dominated in the first half of play as they scored three goals on ten shots, meanwhile holding the Oilers to zero shots in the first 45 minutes.

In the second half, the Storm made it 4-0 with 14 minutes to go in the game.

Sophomore Christian Palushaj scored Findlay's one and only goal in the 85th minute of play with an assist from sophomore Brendan Ash.

Senior goalkeeper Andrew Boulton started the game and saved three shots from opposition but it wasn't enough to push the Oilers to victory.

The 9-8-1 record gives the Oilers their third winning season since 2017, the year Findlay joined the Great Midwest.
